Hello and welcome to a wonderful November,
Enjoy the run up to the party season with some truly incredible gigs from John Smith’s intimate show to Katy Carr’s spectacular album launch. Comedy has hit it’s stride with the return of the Ladygarden residency who are bringing the best of Edinburgh with them as well as the launch of Goodbye Old Hat and the continuing chaos of The Story Pirates. It’s New York month for The Wilmington Film Club to be enjoyed with a Sunday lunch for free!
We have launched our sexy new website so do have a peek – http://www.thewilmingtonarms.co.uk
And well done to Mark who has won a bottle of bubbly and free entry for him and a friend to a gig of his choice just for signing up to the mailing list!
Much Love

KICK THE PLUG Wednesday 4th November 2009
|
The Title Sequence + Tristram + Grand Salvo. 7.30pm. £5/£4 in advance http://www.wegottickets.com/event/61914
“It's taken months of contractual wrangling to put this monumental line-up together but we're pretty sure the paperwork is water-tight and the night is going to go off.
Headlining and in one of those slots that you know they'll be way too big to fill in a couple of months is Broadcast 2000. They've been generating buzz and chatter and swooning over the last year and we will see more of the same on November 4th.”

CLUB FANDANGO Friday 6th November 2009
|
Rescue Cat + The Blank Tapes + Broadcast Society + Your New Antique. 8.00pm. £6/£5 with flyer.
“RESCUE CAT was found wondering around the woods of North London in late 2006 looking for a home. A nice couple took him in and gave him a chair in the spare room. This spare room had an old synth, a drum machine and a computer in it. Soon Rescue Cat had put a few demos up on MySpace and immediately grabbed the attention of a manager and a music lawyer.”

FIX THE RIFT Saturday 7th November 2009
|
Healer/Monster + World Before Wireless + Magnets. 8.00pm. £6.
“A band that really packs a punch, but brute force isn’t Healer/Monsters sole selling point. Vocal melodies that recall Bends – era Radiohead and subtle flourishes of ambient production add a 9th dimension to their sound. Decent, decadent and slightly deranged”. Ric Rawlins, Artrocker

The Depreciation Guild + The Domino State + A Classic Education + Electric Assembly. 8.00pm. Buy Tickets: http://www.wegottickets.com/event/57584
THE DEPRECIATION GUILD (New York City, USA)
They are half of the Pains Of Being Pure At Heart and they are amazing! Brooklyn-based 3-piece The Depreciation Guild have been making underground waves to match those created by their fuzzed-out, reverb-drenched melodies. Artfully combining progressive and retro chic, the trio draws influence from shoegaze guitar walls, dreampop highs, and the rigidity of electronic rhythms, while creating a sound that is a bit different from both, dreamily reinventing their musical heritage.
