DEATH & GLORY Thursday 21st October 2010

7.30pm doors - £3 entry

The third instalment of the mighty Death & Glory and the beasts of new
music just keep on coming. Without further ado, I give you....

PHILADELPHIA MAINLINE (www.myspace.com/philadelphiamainline)
Scuzz Blues duo Philadelphia Mainline are awesome – in the truest sense of
the word. They contain raw Blues power and have literally rattled the
bones of everyone they play in front of, which is doubly impressive as
there are only two of them! Christian Muncey and Matt Veal (for they are
Philadelphia Mainline) have the swagger of the Jon Spencer Blues Explosion
and the tightness of the White Stripes along with the style of Hives.
Stool Pigeon said they had “Holy Golightly-ish R & B menace with a 13th
Floor Elevators spin” and that’s a pretty good description but it doesn’t
even come close to the real thing. Maybe you should come close to the real
thing...but not too close.

THE DASH (www.myspace.com/the_dash)
London rockers The Dash seem to have it all sussed out. They’ve supported
the likes of Gossip, Editors and Biffy Clyro. They’ve recorded their
second single with Mik Whitnall of Babyshambles. They’re lined up to
record their album with Strokes producer Gordon Raphael. Plus they have
their own radio show on Recharged Radio. But are they actually any good?
Oh hell yeah. The Dash play Rock’n’roll smothered in attitude and dripping
with desire. Great hooks, ear-worm lyrics and live performances that will
leave you breathless are all part of the package as well. Be prepared to
fall in lust and be prepared to get sweaty. You have been warned.

BOBBY PETROV (www.myspace.com/bobbypetrov)
We like to bring you new music at Death & Glory and they don’t come much
newer than Bobby Petrov. Formed in the Summer of 2010 they have quickly
amassed a reputation as a mental live act with two singers adding extra
bite to the performance. Talking their lead from the likes of the
Maccabees, Mystery Jets, and Arctic Monkeys, Bobby Petrov mix up a
refreshingly summery sound which will help smooth over the pain of the
onslaught of Autumn! This will be their first London show so come get
yourself a slice of History in the making.

THE LONE GROOVER (www.myspace.com/thelonegrooveruk)
The Lone Groover (or Brian Caulfield to his mum) is named after a comic
strip anti-hero from the 1970s and that will give you the best indication
of his musical leanings. He is a one man punk band with a message that he
has to get heard playing his Folk music for the city.

ODD BOX PRESENTS Thursday 28th October 2010

Standard Fare
http://www.standardfare.co.uk/

Standard Fare are one of those bands. One of those bands you can't help falling in love with after you first hear them. They have wowed audience at home and abroad, including playing at SXSW during the past 12 months. The band have also performed at this years Latitude and Indietracks festivals to great acclaim.

Their debut LP "The Noyelle Beat" (released on Thee SPC) has picked rave reviews:

"A riot of hormones, cut-to-the-chase lyrics, bolshie girl-boy vocals and jingle-jangle propusion...The best and most loveable aspects of indie guitar music."
The Sunday Times

"An album that is as close to perfection as you could hope for."
Artrocker

"Is it one of the best albums I've heard so far this year? Hell yeah."
The Line Of Best Fit

Kid Canaveral
http://www.kidcanaveral.co.uk/

A quartet from Scotland that over the past couple of years have released a string of irristeable 7" singles. With punchy songs about dancing, drinking and love, Kid Canaveral are one of the best new bands doing the rounds.

The band have just released their debut LP 'Shouting At Wildlife' to widespread praise:

BBC Radio 1 Introducing...In Scotland ALBUM OF THE MONTH July 2010

"Once in a while a band comes along that just makes your heart sing - Abba, The B-52s, The Housemartins. All created gloriously melodic pop that filled you to bursting with happiness. Kid Canaveral do the same. If there's one album you buy this year by a band you don't know, then this should be the one." DAILY RECORD

"Like the old adage that you're never further than six feet from a rat in a major city, the feeling with this debut from the St Andrews-formed act is that you are never more than 30 seconds from a hook. Taking the best principles of pop-punk - pogo-friendly rhythms, catchy choruses and at-times frantic instrumental interplay - the four-piece put singalong, instantly memorable tunes at the core of their sound." IS THIS MUSIC? **** (four stars)

The Understudies
http://www.myspace.com/wearetheunderstudies

The Understudies are Brian, Graeme, Bree and Kris. They've been gaining a reputation on the London indiepop scene as something of a hidden treasure during the past 12-18 months. With a sharp guitar and heartfelt songs that, at their best, recall Belle and Sebastian, The Smiths and Butcher Boy.

"...with a natural warmth and almost super human honesty, The Understudies are truly a band to fall for. [They] are one of those bands that charm you from the heart outward as soon as you hear them. Its probably down to the mixture of the authenticity of the shy, frail vocals and the raw honesty in the songs - songs of real proper love.... Live favourite 'Chip pan glam' comes across like The Smiths 'Hand in glove' via a 50's edition of Coronation Street. With nourishment for the heart and for the hips...Fabulous" - BRILL DREAM

Guest DJ: Rocker (Dandelion Radio)

We've been after these guys for a while and frankly we're very excited especially as they've just released their wonderful new album 'Trials'

Trials’ is the second album by shady bard, released on October 11th and preceded by the double download release of ‘Trials (Part III)’/’Daphne’. With tracks from their debut having already featured in US TV dramas such as Grey’s Anatomy, the band return with a new record filled with cinematic instrumentation and symphonic pop songs.

If you don't want to just take my word for it here's what some other people have to say:

“A band it would be easy to fall in love with...dazzling.” The Sunday Times

“Delicate songs...cracked hope...a marvel” Channel 4

“The spoken word symphonies of iLiKETRAiNS and the evocative harmonies of Low...A record that becomes more engaging with every listen.” 9/10 Drowned in Sound

Tickets £3.99 (advance) / £5 (door)

Library Tapes: "More than any other instrument, the piano sounds like a leap of faith, something impossibly bulky lifting off arduously, but feather-light in the air, spanning the chasm between silences as if suspended by its own purling tones" (pitchfork.com)
http://www.myspace.com/librarytapes

Clem Leek is from the South East. He has just completed his MA in Music Composition an is now releasing his first E.P. Clem draws his influence from the minimalist composers Steve Riech & Philip Glass and also such musicians as Keith Kennif, Max Richter, Matt Hales, creating a beautiful mix of piano melodies and subtle instrumentation, all set to the crackle of a 78rpm record.

DEATH AND GLORY Thursday 18th November 2010

Death & Glory 4 is upon us and we have yet another amazing line up for you – we just don’t quit!
This month we’ve gone a little folky and mellow in honour of Autumn so come along and enjoy some
music with depth, humour and poignancy. In November we bring you....

MARMADUKE DANDO (www.myspace.com/marmadukedando)
As a refreshing change to the norm at Ravenous towers it was actually Marmaduke Dando that
found us rather than the other way around. A collective formed around the charismatic Dando, this
8 piece play carefully crafted tunes the deal with the lowest feelings of loneliness and the soaring
moments of pure joy. Songs like ‘Life Can’t Get Any Better’ and ‘If This Is Civilization’ will take you
through a range of complex emotions through the lyrics alone. Musically, Marmaduke Dando sound
like a light night, Absinth session between the Divine Comedy, Gogol Bordello, Matt Bellamy and the
Flaming Lips - which should be enough to raise the staunchest of eyebrows!

LAURA HOCKING & THE LONG GOODBYE (www.myspace.com/laurahocking)
Laura has been around the London scene for a while but now she has beefed up her sound with a
full band her beautiful songs have taken on a luscious and fully formed shape. From ditties about
Autism to tales of female wrestlers, Ms Hocking has amassed a set of songs that will take you from
tears of genuine sadness to tears of laughter within the space of an evening but always with a great
tune and smoothly seductive voice. Whatever your reaction is to her music, you should probably
bring some tissues with you...

ELEPHANT (www.myspace.com/belindagillett)
Imagine Florence kicking it with Elbow while Radiohead work on the production and the ghost of
Edith Piaf floats around the studio. Imagine how good that would sound. Then stop imagining and
enjoy the delights of Elephant. From the far-flung reaches of Felixstowe and Norwich, Elephant
are lead by the enchanting Belinda Gillett who has a voice so powerful you could put tusks on it
and....well, you see where I’m going with that one. Lazy journalism aside, Elephant are marvellous
and this will be a rare appearance in London town so just be sure not to get crushed in the
stampede. Sorry.

LOFTY HEIGHTS (www.myspace.com/theloftyheights)
Lofty Heights are essentially one man but oh my what a man!? A yank in Manor House, a sound
engineer extraordinaire and a purveyor of the best handshakes known to mankind. Then there’s
the music which is some of the best folk-pop tinged with sunshine that you are every likely to hear.
Every instrument sounds dangerously close to being out of tune and every lyric is almost mumbled
through shyness but that is exactly how it should sound. Lofty Heights indeed.

£3 on the door. 8pm.

Just Like Pictures: 10:10
Zelig: 9:30
Sound of the Nudge: 8:50
Higher Frequency: 8:10

Doors 8 pm
Tickets £3.99 (advance) / £5 (door)

London based via Wolverhampton & Londrina, Just Like Pictures have been gigging in and around London since 2007 and have been branded as 'experimental angular indie funk' (Spice of Life/Bull & Gate), 'spikey indie pop gems' (ents24.com) and 'perky and punky with plenty of bollocks' (Hope & Anchor). Come along and decide for yourself...
http://www.myspace.com/justlikepictures

The Zelig live show is a showcase for the bands versatile sound, which can be, and often is, tailored to the particlular audience and venue; whether it be high-octane energetic glory; or austere, intimate emotion. Such a dedication was rewarded when Zelig took the stage at The Birmingham Academy to open for The Fratellis on their 2008 tour.
http://www.myspace.com/zeligmusicuk

Sound of the Nudge: BBC 6 MuSic presenter Tom Robinson discovered their sound and immediately included them in his ‘best on the web’ selection. Tom added on air “It's impossible not to get caught up by the sheer punk enthusiasm and swaggering Mark E Smith attitude of SOUND OF THE NUDGE - spearheading their own music movement - PUB STEP"..
http://www.myspace.com/soundofthenudge

Higher Frequency is a north London based band mixing elements of electronic music, disco house and funk with traditional songwriting, edgy guitars and captivating melodies. Coming from opposite sides of the world (Brazil and Italy), its members met at Middlesex University in 2008.

OVUM is a four-piece instrumental band based in Tokyo, Japan, playing gigs since its formation in 2006.
Making songs, removing improvisation and noise as much as possible for much of ensemble, melodies, harmony and structure by composition.
http://www.myspace.com/ovumjapan

"Next in line were a British band called The Ambience who were definitely the highlight of both festival days. Musically they were somewhere between Modest Mouse and The Verve - indie with pure euphoria that doesn't leave your ears and you can't forget it easily; the stage was full of butterflies..." - Review of the Te Mikka festival

FUZZYSTAR AND THE CHRISTMAS CHOIR Friday 10th December 2010

A bit of a seasonal fun to end 2010. Fuzzystar, Moustache Of Insanity,
Hexicon and The Croshaw Family.

A festive celebration – normal tunes for the humbugs, Christmas
songs and mince pies for the rest. Just bring your festive cheer.

Tell us you’re coming: http://www.facebook.com/#!/event.php?eid=176277469052009
Doors/Entry
: 7:30pm, £5.

FUZZYSTAR
Originally hailing from Scotland (Edinburgh), north London based
Fuzzystar is the moniker of Andy Thomson and what has expanded to
become a five-piece band performing off-kilter indie pop songs. With
one EP to their name so far they have reminded folks of Brian Wilson,
Elliott Smith and Sebadoh.

"Absolutely wonderful dream-pop" - God Is In The TV

http://www.fuzzystar.co.uk/

MOUSTACHE OF INSANITY
Moustache of Insanity are Nik and Bill, two ninjas hellbent on
kickstarting a transglobal funtastic casio pop revolution. They play
noisy bleep boom pop magic that, if you’re lucky, might just melt your
face. If dinosaurs were still around, they would most definitely like
this kind of music. Especially the cool ones with long necks.

“These guys are brilliant. Twee-casio-pop ahoy, they are a bit like
Moldy Peaches with tiny keyboards and facial hair. One of the most fun
bands we’ve heard in a while.” – Pull Yourself Together, Manchester

http://www.moustacheofinsanity.com/

HEXICON
Hexicon started as a lo-fi voice/guitar/french horn combo in 2004 and
got told they sounded like a junk shop Beach Boys. Now on Haircut
Records this melodic sextet have played on bills alongside some of
their favourite people including James Yuill, Darren Hayman, Fanfarlo,
SFA and Tender Trap. When not on Hexicon duties, Mike and Paul also
play in Allo Darlin’, and Tom can also be heard playing Horn on Darren
Hayman’s most recent records.

“Hexicon make the sound of mellow hillbillies tripping in the
countryside” - Artrocker

http://bunkeronthehill.com/hexicon

THE CROSHAW FAMILY
Since 2006 The Croshaws have built up a regular following hosting
bi-monthly nights at the Betsey Trotwood. Whatever they choose, we can
expect it to express their penchant for classic bluegrass, alternative
country, old-time rock’n’roll not to mention a few festive specials.
Previous tour support slots for The Duke & The King and Alasdair
Roberts indicate it’s bound to be worth a listen…

“…a set moving from cloud-floatingly delicate numbers and the most
innocent vocal lines, to nod along mid-west driving music.” -
Yorkshire Evening Post

DEATH & GLORY Thursday 16th December 2010

It’s Christmas and boy have we got a present for you!?! The final Death &
Glory of 2010 will be jam packed full of fun, frolics and some seriously
sweaty dancing by the end of the night. Still just £3 and still open from
8.00pm!!!

MFC CHICKEN (www.myspace.com/mfcchicken)
Any band that combines good old fashioned rock’n’roll with crispy fried
chicken is alright by us here at Ravenous towers. The boys in MFC Chicken
were formed above a chicken shack, make a sax fuelled rhyt...hm and blues
and sing songs about chicken. Their live performances are taking on a
near-legendary status and it’s only a matter of time before someone covers
them in a special coating and sells them to the nation. If you’re lucky
they might even let you try their secret sauce....

STAGES OF DAN (www.myspace.com/stagesofdan)
Throughout the history of music there have always been amazing power
trios. The Jam, The Police, Nirvana, The Hoosiers. OK, maybe not the
Hoosiers. But now there’s a new trio on the block and they are Stages Of
Dan. With new single Gary making waves on 6Music and their famous banter
winning them friends wherever they go, big things are predicted for these
guys. This will be their last show of 2010 so catch them before the venues
get bigger and the entrance costs more.

THE LITTLE PHILISTINES (www.myspace.com/the littlephilistines)
If you like your Indie-pop melodic with darkly humorous lyrics and hugely
danceable tunes then you will love the Little Philistines. Influences like
Blur, Beck, Super Furry Animals and Wilco should give you some idea of
what they do but only the live performances of this 5 piece are the only
way to really get the full experience. Artrocker described them as “Bloc
Party letting their hair down”, and Tom Robinson described them as “sharp
indiepop perfection”, we describe them as really good fun and ruddy good
tunesmiths.

DROPOUT DAN (www.myspace.com/sixthformdropout)
Daniel O’Dell did what we all wanted to but didn’t have the balls to. He
dropped out and followed the music and so far he’s been proved pretty well
right to make that decision. A handful of singles and EPs down, O’Dell is
now preparing his debut album for 2011 and it’s sure to be jam packed full
of the heartfelt and articulate songs he is now synonymous with. Taking
after the likes of Frank Turner, Reuben, Chris T-T and Beans On Toast,
Dropout Dan is the hottest thing to come out of St Neots and soon he’ll be
the newest singer-songwriter that you love.See more

Now in its third year, the Musical Comedy Awards (MCA) are back for another celebration of the UK’s best emerging and established musical comedians!

After the total sell out success of last year’s MCA, WeGotTickets have this year partnered up with Avin a Larf to sponsor the Best Newcomer Category in this prestigious competition to discover, support and promote the best emerging talent in the UK’s growing musical comedy community.

With some of the biggest names in comedy, acts such as Bill Bailey and Tim Minchin, popularising the genre, the MCA have grown in stature to become a key date in the comedy calendar and a launch pad for many careers.

Having been selected by a panel of industry judges from the website www.musicalcomedy.co.uk, the UK’s top 40 emerging musical comedy acts will compete in a series of heats between January and March at the Wilmington Arms, with each show headlined by established stars of the circuit. From each heat of ten acts, the audience and judges will vote for their favourite five acts to progress to the next stage. The Final of the MCA will then take place on March 19th at the New Players Theatre, Embankment.

All of the MCA shows will be hosted by the 2010 MCA Runners Up, the brilliant HORSE & LOUIS - “See them before they're big, otherwise you'll regret it.” - BRITISH COMEDY GUIDE

BRIGHT CLUB: BRAINS

DEATH AND GLORY Thursday 20th January 2011

New Year, same Death & Gloriousness! We're back and 2011 is going to be
special....tru dat. To kick things off we have an Indie meat feast (that's
right, sausages on stage ladies). So get your best indie togs out and come
show us what Santa gave you for Christmas...

Goodness (www.myspace.com/thegoodnessmusic)
Bristol's Goodness have got clothing endorsements, awards and notable
recording credentials. But strip that all away and w...hat is left? Well,
damn fine tunes, anthemic songs and outstanding stage presence. Bits of
Elbow, Editors and Futureheads combine with massive pop melodies to create
songs that should be heard by the masses and sung along to at festivals by
the summer of 2011.

Winterhours (www.myspace.com/winterhoursuk)
Americana, Folk and musical landscapes are the three areas that
Winterhours reckon they operate in. I'd be so bold as to add future
Indie-Rock classics to that as well. Fronted by the engimatic Alex J
Dunne, Winterhours have built up a fanatical following over the last
couple of years and are ready to get 2011 started with a storming show at
D&G. Who are we to argue?

Shapes (www.myspace.com/shapesbanduk)
Every now and again you come across a band that makes you feel really,
well, old. Shapes are upstarts, no two ways about it, but don't let that
put you off. These boys are fresh, energetic and play with an enthusiasm
that is lacking in a lot of bands these days. Hints of the Laurel
Collective, Jamie T and an indier Biffy make for a great experience live.

Mad Staring Eyes - Acoustic (www.myspace.com/madstaringeyes)
Loyal Ravenous followers may remember a be-bandaged performance by these
guys down at our old Stuffed night at the Ginglik. Well MSE are now
putting out a fantastic acoustic album and they want to share it with you.
So if you like Pavement, the Pixies, Talking Heads and the Cure but with a
sense of humour and in an acoustic styleee then get down early!

plus DJ Alex Watson of Recharged Radio.

Doors at 8.00pm, first band at
8.30pm. £4.

MATT GREEN & TOM PRICE - WORK IN PROGRESS Monday 24th January 2011

Matt Green: Funny Times (work in progress)

Matt Green returns after a sell out 2010 show with a new hour of stand up. We're living in funny times. Come and watch Matt try to make sense of it all. Warning: may contain moderate statistics and bafflement. Also jokes about politics and sex. But hopefully not at the same time. "A stand up audience's dream" ***** (Three Weeks) "A super impressive comedy brain" (British Comedy Guide)

Tom Price - Work in Progress

Tom has been a regular on the UK stand up circuit for nine years now, and is currently preparing to think about maybe taking a show to the Edinburgh fringe for the first time. His bright and breezy manner thinly covers a dark seam of misanthropic material dealing with with daily confrontations with mannerless human beings. Manners is his starting point. No one's quite sure where it'll end.

2009/early 2010 at Treacle Studios, East London and produced by Joe Adams

FIKA RECORDINGS PRESENT Saturday 12th February 2011

Fika Recordings presents:

Horowitz (UK)

Moustache Of Insanity (UK)

Lisa Bouvier (SE)

Lost Summer Kitten (SE)

This night sees the launch of Fika Recordings, an anglo-swedish indiepop cassette label, presenting four artists releasing EPs with us tonight. There'll be free cakes baked by us to recipes from each of the bands.

Tickets £5 adv from http://www.wegottickets.com/event/103538

(£4 unwaged on the door, else £6). Doors at 8, music starts 8:30pm. Indiepop disco after.

Further details  at http://fikarecordings.wordpress.com

Moustache Of Insanity

Moustache Of Insanity are Nik (keyboards and giggles) and Bill (guitar and moustache). We first came across them supporting one of Bill’s various other bands (probably Allo Darlin’ or with Darren Hayman’s Secondary Modern) and were immediately blown away with their infectious and outrageously fun take on indiepop. Fiendishly simple songs about sending postcards to strangers over the internet, books and the soon-to-be swedish punk classic Kaktus is all it takes to take us to a place with no worries, a world where we can just spend all our time with friends dancing and singing along to pop. We love them.
“Goofy conceptualists” (New York Times)
“A daft combination of twee bedroom pop and the Moldy Peaches” (indie-mp3)
“It’s like The Ramones writing Belle & Sebastian records. Initially these tracks sound a little throwaway, but a repeat listen reveals a truly heartfelt, almost melancholic feel in these genuine love songs” (Off The Beaten Tracks)

Horowitz

Described as “the sound of the indiepop underground,” Horowitz formed in 2004 as a three-piece bedroom project. Since then they have released a full-length LP, 5 singles and numerous compilation tracks, memorably coining the slogan ‘Popkids of the World Unite!’ on the b-side of their first single for Cloudberry Records, 2007’s ‘Tracyanne.’ Practically bleeding DIY ethics, the band have taken their Pavement-meets-Subway Organization brand of noise pop to Germany, Sweden and the U.S, playing some of the finest indiepop clubs and festivals including Cosy Den in Stockholm and the 2010 NYC Popfest.
They’ve also released singles with WeePop, Paper Tiger and Glo-Fi.
“Horowitz songs are like something you can cling to when times are hard, or you’ve had a shit day at work, or you have no money or your girlfriend’s just told you she’s running off with your sister” (A Layer of Chips) .
“For other bands, Horowitz make lesson one quite simple. Have tunes. Loads of them” (In Love With These Times in Spite of These Times).
“Horowitz totally do guitar-based indie pop (like, TOTALLY do it) that makes me feel like there’s some whole other worry-free world out there that” (Norman Records).

Lisa Bouvier

Lisa Bouvier took the brave leap into the pop world 2007, having grown tired of compromises in various band formations. She quickly made a name in southern Sweden as its most frisky popstar with handclaps, vocal harmonies and a bloodied guitar that could get any pop club or living room dancing along to her catchy songs.
In Lisa’s music the melodies form the center. Melodies that sticks like flypaper and are backed by equally deliberate handclaps, naive pop that push rock riffs and occasionally a beautiful singer / songwriter calm.
With these ingredients Lisa Bouvier suceeds with the true art of being an unpretentious serious pop artist. The lyrics dealing with small bittersweet truths about life, spiced with all manner of popular cultural references in the style of Annika Norlin and Mary LouLord. Behind her, Lisa Bouvier has Skåne, Sweden’s finest musicians, The Pop Messengers, composed of Emmy Hogstrom-Tagesson (vocals, melodica), Lars Diurlin (drums, vocals), Mattias Lidehäll (bass), Håkan Carlsson (git / keyboard / dance) and André Brorsson (piano, dance). Together they also play in Stars In Coma. Following magnificent sets with her band across the pop clubs of Europe, she’ll be playing a flurry of solo gigs in the UK in the new year.
“The scrumptious indiepop of Lisa Bouvier…. is this the best indiepop you’ve heard all year?” Swedesplease.net

Lost Summer Kitten

I first came across Lost Summer Kitten sometime in 2006, having stumbled upon their song Love Song No. 1 and instantly adored it’s melancholic bittersweetness. It quickly became a staple of mixtapes made for friends and I couldn’t resist playing it on the radio in Nottingham and Vancouver time and time again, much to the chagrin of fellow presenters who asked whether it was really necessary to play the same song so frequently (answer: yes, it was).
Fast forward 4 years to a cold February evening in 2010 and I’m meeting a few Swedes in the pub in Camden before heading over to the opening night of London Popfest. At that point, I barely knew them, having met only once before at a Twee As Fuck night a few months earlier. Conversation turned to the songs we’d put on mix CDs for the mix exchange at the popfest alldayer, and, old habits being hard to break, Lost Summer Kitten was on the CD I’d painstakingly put together. Turns out I was drinking “jugs of whatever” ale with LSK, who promptly reformed on the 242 bus back into the city after a few more beers to serenade the passengers with their sublime three-way harmonies of love, loss and loneliness. They’ve never been far from my heart since.
Lost Summer Kitten are Matilda Hjärtstam, Lisa Westerlund, Dennis Hollström and Amanda Nordin.

"Further down towards Exmouth Market, the Wilmington Arms is setting itself up as pretender to its crown. At the monthly night run by the sketch troupe Ladygarden, it's not unusual to see stars from Peep Show's Isy Suttie to Lenny Henry performing to a 40-strong crowd, spot Jennifer Saunders at the bar or bump into Ash Atalla, the producer of The Office, scouting for new talent."
